It's a Rosey Christmas

Its that time of year again!

Mince pies and mulled wine at the ready for the holiday season.  Here is a rundown of what the staff at Rose and Co Estates will be getting up to at this festive time.

James will be spending the holiday period at home with his young family out in the sticks in Shenley, Hertfordshire.  As mentioned in our previous blog; James will be performing in a gruelling obstacle course on the 27th April called ‘Tough Mudder’ and he will be hoping the delights of Christmas won’t hinder his preparation for the event.  We wish him the best of luck!

Our Office Administrator Emmy is lucky enough to celebrate Christmas twice as part of her Norwegian heritage.  Not only will she be tucking into Turkey on Christmas day, Emmy and her two teenage daughters will enjoy pheasant on Christmas Eve.  God Jul!

Christmas time will be a chance for our co-directors, Tali & Darren to spend some quality time at home with their two children.  Hopefully the staff at Rose and Co have not driven Darren & Tali to drink too much Christmas sherry.

It’s off to Dorset for Audrey this Christmas time.  Alongside her husband, Audrey traditionally visits her Grandma at this time of year.  Mixing her French and English lineage gives Audrey’s Christmas more of a metropolitan feel, but being near the seaside will certainly put a British chill into the festivities.

Sam will be spending Christmas with his girlfriend and her family over in good olde Essex.  He will also mix the usual eating and drinking with going to see his beloved Tottenham Hotspur on Boxing Day (we hope this won’t ruin his time off)

Richard will be sticking to tradition with a green Christmas this year.  Out in Sarratt, Hertfordshire he will be gallivanting around the stables of his families’ farm.  He has stopped short of having to kill his own dinner but the experience will be rustic none-the-less.

Victoria is a lady of many talents, but Christmas shopping has to go down in her top 3.  December is the time for Victoria to run herself ragged shopping in her local town centre of Harrow, North London where she spends Christmas time with her family and friends.

Sweet of the Week: Kevin's Sweet Challenge

This week's edition of Sweet of the Week takes us all the way across the pond to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In just a few days our intern, Kevin will be leaving our family at Rose & Co Estates to make his journey home to Minneapolis for the holidays. In the States, Kevin plays Collegiate American Football, and listen to this... he needs to gain 20 kgs before next season. Kevin recently has gone under oath at Rose & Co Estates, stating " he will not under any circumstance deny a sweet during the holiday." We put his words to a test in the office by challenging him to eat a whole package of biscuits.. not only did he complete the challenge, but in addition a Subway foot-long sandwich. As we continue to support Kevin in his holiday sweet challenge, we thought it would be fun to hear what you                  would eat, “If you had to gain 20 kg's by                             eating just sweets over the holidays?”

Must Have Holiday Sweets from Minnesota

1. The S'more: Minnesota is the next closest thing to the north-pole in the winter. Some of my favourite ways to celebrate the holidays with family and friends is by ice skating, sledding, a good old fashion snowball fight, and warming up around the fire while roasting s'mores. If you never have had a s'more, you are missing out! My recommendation if you are not scared of a few extra calories, try a deep fried s'more, you won't regret it!

2.  Santa's Christmas Cookies: Ever since I was little one of my favourite Christmas traditions is to sneak down in the middle of night to the Christmas tree and eat a few of the cookies my grandmother sets out for Santa... hopefully this won’t be the year my Grandma catches me!

 Happy Holidays From Minnesota!                    -Kevin
